Hello everyone.
A lot has changed since this topic was first started. The game is still an open beta and free to play (not pay to win!)
Whats new:
- Much, much less bugs. Splash damage did a good job last summer releasing a patch after patch slashing bugs. Many players will confirm that although some bugs exist, it doesn't affect game play. At least for me with 200+ hours
- New mercs
- New maps. Dockyard was released like 2 weeks ago. It's fun and kind of reminds me of fuel dump. A long ass escort with a plant at the end. Also a new heist map is in the works and should be coming soon.
- Developer still cares about the game. They provide regular updates and videos. check it out here to be up-to-date->
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZWDpZ ... STfyMPJOSQ- New skins and trinkets if you are into that.
- Still no dedicated servers. I think it is only matter of time because of the next point.
- Splash damage bought the game back from Nexon. Which means they have all the creative freedom that has already resulted in hiring new staff to develop it more. They game was stuck in one place for a year
- Ranked seasons now happen. Competitive matches are cool, they double your xp at the end of matches. Season 3 starts next week and we could easily have a team.(although you dont need one, and can play with randoms through matchmaking)
Few things still suck in my opinion
- lack of dedicated servers
- matchmaking. the skill gap in this game is pretty evident. running and shooting is not enough. every merc has their strengths, weaknesses and abilities. new players that arent aware of that, are put into matches with high lvl players and it drives them mad when they dont supply ammo or health. Splash damage is aware of that and they keep promising improvements in that regard.
If you want to join the game, its free on steam to play. Play the tutorial and ask me if you have any questions. Game uses a loadout card system. every loaded is basically your primary, secondary and melee weapon with some extra add-ons which impact your character abilities. everything from bronze up is simply cosmetic and it doesn't affect your gameplay. getting a bronze is pretty easy, just takes a bit of playing time or luck with cases that you get at the end of matches.
Fenrir and Discolow are examples of good et players catching it on pretty quickly as the game is quite similar to ET.
See you on the battlefield.
